One of my favorite childhood memories was of my mother reading to me when I was very young. Humor played an important part in my life, a fact which my mom and dad both attribute to my grandmother. As a young girl I was interested in music and began taking piano lessons at age five. These lessons contributed to a lifelong love of music and all things rhythmic and rhyming. This book is a collection of poems written over a period of time, and not written for any particular purpose, until my daughter encouraged me to put them into a book. These poems reflect the inner thinking of children. I tried to capture what children think from their view of the world. I wanted to let grown-ups see the world from a child's perspective and allow children to see their view put into words. I am the adult who still cries at the end of movies like Homeward Bound. I never completely grew out of my childhood. In the words of the song "Puff, the Magic Dragon" is the idea that when the young boy grew too old to imagine, Puff disappeared from his world. I don't want anyone to forget how powerful imagination is.
